Mother Misery

John Hermansen and Thomas Piehl got together in 1998 after the break of
their earlier bands, the heavy rock band GREYHATE (Hermansen) and the
technical thrash band CLENCH (Piehl). They started to write music and
eventually recruited Jens Wide (Clench) on drums and Örjan Baudin (Clench) on
bass. They went under the name NOSEDIVE and released some songs on
compilations around Europe.
In 2004 the band had material enough to release a full album and the debut
album Grandiosity was born. Before the release of the album the band changed
name to MOTHER MISERY. At this point the band hooked up with Jochen
Böllath and Daredevil Records, who released Grandiosty and organized the first
tour for the band outside of Sweden in 2005.
This is where Örjan Baudin and Jens Wide decides to leave the band and get
replaced with Jimmy Lindbergh (ex Evelyn Grace) on drums and Marcus
Jäderholm (ex GreyHate) on bass. In the years to follow Daredevil Records
released For The Crows (EP) 2006 and All Eyes On You (Album) in 2007. A video
was released for the song My Soul.

Now the band hooked up with Rock This Town Booking and did several more
tours around Europe, mainly Germany. In 2008 Marcus Jäderholm decides to
leave the band and gets replace with Stiff Hell on bass. This is where the band
gets in contact with Roman Hödl of TMR Bookings (Now District 19 Bookings)
and got to do a tour with Swedish legends Entombed and the dutch The Lucifer
Principle in Holland. After that several tours and shows in Europe followed
under TMR Bookings.
In 2011 the third album Standing Alone was released under the label
Transubstans Records (SE) and received tons of great reviews and high points
from the smaller blogs and online magazines to the biggest print magazines
around. Three videos were made on the songs, Fade Away, Dying heroes and
State Of Grace.
The band was rocking small and big venues around Europe to attending
festivals like the Zwarte Cross festival (NL) with more than 150.000 people.
MOTHER MISERY have now proven themselves to be a part of the big league,
sharing stage with bands like Entombed, Queensryche, Hardcore Superstar,
Lynch Mob, Peter Pan Speedrock, Lillasyster, Anthrax, Sepultura, Life of Agony,
Deathstars, Pro-Pain, Grand Massive, Therapy?, H.E.A.T, The Quireboys,
Evergrey, Corroded etc.
In 2015 the EP Deadication was released with a video on the song Killing Me,
this also under Transubstans Records. It was followed by the album Megalodon
in 2018. Megalodon also received top points and reviews from the media and
fans. Videos were released on the songs Ashes Of Your Crown, Stained (lyric)
and The Challenger (lyric).

When C19 hit the world the band was put on hold pretty much through the
whole of 2020, there was material written for the next album and to be
recorded but when they got back together again all was re-written and re
arranged. The new album was ready to be released digitally in 2023. Five
singles were released digitally before the complete album was. Also a video on
the groovy What Can I Say was released.
At this point Thomas Piehl decides to leave the band without any hard feelings
and the search for a new guitar player started. After a few months Emil Ström
(The Strikeouts, ex Manny Ribera) was found and joins the band. The first show
was in December 9 at Hell Yeah Rock Club (SE) with Corroded (SE) and his place
in the band was set.
Now MOTHER MISERY enters a cooperation with Doc Gator Records (AT) to
release From Shadow To Ghost on an exclusive vinyl in four different colors.
Black, Blue marbled, Yellow transparent marbled and Clear transparent. The
promotional work together with DGR and Metal message (DE) hits another
level and the album is receiving loads of top scores and high praises from the
media and fans.
With a great new album released, shows booked and more to come the band
is now ready for 2024 and what´s to come.
